Need Help Deciding between Bonnaroo & Firefly

Planning on going to a camping music festival this summer with a bunch of my friends (all around 20 y/o). Been to gov ball a bunch in the past for a day here and there but wanted to step it up this year so were looking at firefly and bonnaroo. We are from lower NY so firefly is much closer than bonaroo (like 5hr driving vs. 13 hr) but imo bonnaroo has a better lineup and it’s always been something I’ve wanted to go to. We all have pretty varied tastes in music and a bunch of the artists overlap as usual so not a major issue there. One of my friends has also been to firefly before so he does recommend that but wanted to see what people’s thoughts on the two were in here. Thanks

Etymotic Foam vs. Custom Earplugs

I'm trying to decide if custom earplugs are worth it for me... So I've been to concerts in the past, and I typically use Etymotic ER20XS earplugs with foam tips. I usually try to be close to the front (and usually end up off to the side), so maybe the sound would be different if I go further back and toward the center, but I find that with the foam tips, the sound ends up super bassy and the vocals become a little hard to understand. Is that a product of where I'm standing in relation to the speakers, or is that just the nature of foam tips? Could I expect to see a difference with custom earplugs?
