'Once in a lifetime party'

Hi all,

I am brainstorming about a short trip with friends in 2022. We live in Europe. Ages are between 32 - 35 (M). The main goal is to have a 'once in a lifetime' party. We are not normally big partygoers. So it is more like doing something really special. Sights are therefore of secondary importance. But a beautiful location is of course a plus.

Doubt between:

  1. Carnival in Salvador (Brazil) with a day or two before departure in Rio. Carnival in Salvador is described as the largest and wildest street party in the world. The atmosphere seems great. And it really is a "bucket list" destination. The warm weather and the beach are also a plus.

Disadvantage: takes place around February 25, 2022. I fear that carnival will still not be celebrated exuberantly in a year's time, given corona ..

  1. Electric Daisy Carnival (EDC) in Las Vegas. The nice thing about this is that we get to see Las Vegas for a day or two first. And EDC looks great with all the lights, stages and fireworks. I have not come across a single negative story about EDC yet.

  2. ?

EDC 2022 will probably take place in May. That is enough time for the vaccines for the US. The chance that this will take place seems to me greater than carnival in Brazil. Especially because at EDC you can ask anyone at the gate for a corona test or proof of vaccination.

Do you have any other ideas for a special over the top party at a nice location?
