Buying re-sold tickets

Hey everyone! I'm sorry if this is often asked, looked in this sub for a bit, and tried searching but couldn't find the answer.

Basically a festival I wanted to go to next year sold out already. I'm looking into buying a ticket through ticketswap, or stubhub, or even personally on the spot, as I'm gonna be living in that city. But, how exactly do I make sure that they won't resell that ticket to another person or use it themselves?

Sorry for such a dumb question, I've only ever been to one festival, and I think like I could've easily done that. It's just printing a sheet of paper and getting your wristband.

Etymotic Foam vs. Custom Earplugs

I'm trying to decide if custom earplugs are worth it for me... So I've been to concerts in the past, and I typically use Etymotic ER20XS earplugs with foam tips. I usually try to be close to the front (and usually end up off to the side), so maybe the sound would be different if I go further back and toward the center, but I find that with the foam tips, the sound ends up super bassy and the vocals become a little hard to understand. Is that a product of where I'm standing in relation to the speakers, or is that just the nature of foam tips? Could I expect to see a difference with custom earplugs?
