Who is responsible for the synchronization of every dj’s visuals at a festival? One VDJ or multiple?

After attending beyond wonderland this past weekend it’s quite apparent that some artists will play the same exact set as their previous shows and along with that comes their visuals that are almost always synchronized with the beat and displayed at the perfect moment. (Ex: Seven lions’ visuals during his original songs always told a story, clearly were made for the song currently being played, and were triggered to play as soon as the song began to play). Another example being excision of course.

That being said, my question is who is responsible for controlling ALL of these artists’ visuals in the festival scene? Clearly, one VDJ can’t memorize when to activate certain visuals at specific times to correctly sync the beat drop for EVERY. SINGLE. DJ....

So, does that every top tier DJ have their own hired VDJ that also hops on the controls for the duration of their set? Does this all get discussed during sound check? Any other relatable info?

TLDR: Who is responsible for controlling the visuals for each dj? Does each dj usually have their own VDJ?
