Festive Owl yesterday put out a tweet about ticket sales being down and a discussion about ticket sales at festivals being lower than usual, and in the comments people have been saying things like prices, oversaturation, and bad lineups. I wanted to ask since this is also a huge community, what do you think the reasons ticket sales are down? Do you plan on attending any festivals?

Anecdotally, for me, I am excited to attend my first festival, but there seems to be so much negativity this year and may not be as excited to go to a festival that has a very low attendance, but moreso wondering about the reasonings and bigger reasons why festival attendance is down from the tweets so started this discussion to discuss the issue.

Etymotic Foam vs. Custom Earplugs

I'm trying to decide if custom earplugs are worth it for me... So I've been to concerts in the past, and I typically use Etymotic ER20XS earplugs with foam tips. I usually try to be close to the front (and usually end up off to the side), so maybe the sound would be different if I go further back and toward the center, but I find that with the foam tips, the sound ends up super bassy and the vocals become a little hard to understand. Is that a product of where I'm standing in relation to the speakers, or is that just the nature of foam tips? Could I expect to see a difference with custom earplugs?
