Looking for Earplug Recommendations

I'd love to hear the music while I'm at the local bar, without having a audio sensory overload. They do live music of different genre's but it's generally pretty loud to be heard everywhere. I also get fucked over when the pinball machines let out a loud pop to notify the person directly next to it, and the entire building, that that person won a free game.

Anywho, Festival goer's seem to be face with louder than a bar's music, music; and I wanted your recommendations on Earplugs.

The foam things always fall out, I have that common problem. Also ideally looking for reusable because anything that's consumable like that is a waste of money and resource.

Etymotic Foam vs. Custom Earplugs

I'm trying to decide if custom earplugs are worth it for me... So I've been to concerts in the past, and I typically use Etymotic ER20XS earplugs with foam tips. I usually try to be close to the front (and usually end up off to the side), so maybe the sound would be different if I go further back and toward the center, but I find that with the foam tips, the sound ends up super bassy and the vocals become a little hard to understand. Is that a product of where I'm standing in relation to the speakers, or is that just the nature of foam tips? Could I expect to see a difference with custom earplugs?
