Pukkelpop 2022, Belgium
My first time at Pukkelpop and it was amazing. Really well organised and such a great, varied lineup. Nobody asked but here's my review! Pros: - Super fast service for drinks and no queues. - Plenty of (flushing!) toilets and urinals, barely ever had to queue. - Very few drunk people. - Amazing mix of genres, you will definitely see something unexpected / new. - Not too busy, meaning you could get close to the front for most artists even if arriving late. I think this was due to the variety of artists / genres. - Brilliant app to help you organise your day and notifications when an act you've liked is due to start. - 10 stages all within 10 mins walk. - Sound quality and staging was amazing. - Free ferris wheel. - Hot showers at the camp sites. - You can collect plastic cups / bottles to trade for food and drink tokens. - Loads of other fun activities going on e.g. karaoke, secret rooms, scratch cards. - Two free train tickets to anywhere in Belgium included in the ticket price and free camping too. Cons: - If you like to drink spirits, they are expensive and only sold at a few specific bars. If you like to drink beer, they only sell half pints. But this does mean the queues are faster and there are not too many drunk people. - Very few water points and water was expensive to buy. - Food quality is not great unless you go to the expensive food trucks. - Campsite was super busy and tightly packed but that's probably normal for most festivals! Also food / drink can only be bought with tokens so you have to queue to buy those first. I think this makes the food / drink queues go faster but some people hate the token system.
