Hi everyone. In anticipation of HardSummer 2021, for some reason, I remembered all the stories that happened to me at various festivals. I don't go to such events very often, but since I turned 21, my friends and I attend such events at least once a year to relax and have fun. I guess the most shameful is when I got lost in the crowd in 2017 at my first HardSummer. I was high, and if not for some dude, I could end being trampled (many thanks to him, by the way). He took me to the side where I passed out. Strangely, I wasn't robbed. Until the end of the event, I didn't feel very well and envied my friends who had fun to the fullest. I'm going to my first ever festival soon, that I have also volunteered to work at. two of my shifts start at 5:30AM and I am.... very worried, lol. I am NOT an early riser, I usually wake up at 9-10pm and I have to get 9 hours of sleep or I'm very tired and dozey throughout the day. so if I waking up at 5am, I'll have to go to sleep around 9pm ish, obviously while music is still playing. any tips on how to do this? I'll bring earplugs and an eye mask, I was thinking sleeping pills? no doubt I'll still be tired the next morning, as waking up before 7am makes me feel really groggy. any tips here too? caffiene pills? would they work that well? how strong/many should I take? I have taken tent pegs from an abandoned tent as i'd bent mine erecting my tent. The tent was undamaged and probably able to be reused had I not nicked the pegs off it. I just hope it had new pegs provided for it though. The pegs however are awesome and I still use them every year, they are really sturdy and even on the hardest ground don't bend. In 2007 I went to a festival and for got to pack spare underwear and ended up wearing the same pair from Wednesday (when the campsite opened, bands started on the Friday) to the Monday when the campsite closed. So I live in Virginia but would drive to any sort of event knowing it was this kind of music I know its a bit anti thetical to what many consider a festival experience but I am getting to my older 20s and find i want a more relaxed and sonically soothing atmosphere. It’s my first festival (lollapalooza) and I just have some worries that I will be in the relative back for every show just because there are so many people going. For the shows we want to see we have reserved 45 minutes to an hour for time to get to the stage and have good spots, but for Tyler we are staying practically all day. Me n my mates are planning on going to Portugal on holiday next summer with our main plan being going to the Rolling Loud festival there. However I have noticed that the event is 18+ and whilst most of us will be fine as we will have turned 18 before the festival, two of my mates will have not turned 18 yet as their birthdays are a couple weeks later. However, they both have fake UK driving licences with UV markings - would this be able to get them into the festival? I have no idea what kind of checks there'll be at the festival entrance as I've never been to an 18+ festival before let alone in a different country. Going to my first festival this year (Bonnaroo) and was wondering if anyone has any advice on recovery. Hey everyone! I'm sorry if this is often asked, looked in this sub for a bit, and tried searching but couldn't find the answer. Basically a festival I wanted to go to next year sold out already. I'm looking into buying a ticket through ticketswap, or stubhub, or even personally on the spot, as I'm gonna be living in that city. But, how exactly do I make sure that they won't resell that ticket to another person or use it themselves? Sorry for such a dumb question, I've only ever been to one festival, and I think like I could've easily done that. It's just printing a sheet of paper and getting your wristband. It's a silly question because back in the day (get off my lawn) before cellphones, we all managed fine. "Be at the fountain at 5pm" and everyone was. If my wife and I go to a festival (any large crowded gathering...well shoot, I can lose her in Target), and we don't want to have our cellphones on us (or will be without cell signal), what devices exist to help us find each other?
