Hi ppl, I’m going down to two days a week at work to take a mental break from Aug 12-Sept 12ish (really when I wanna go back to full time). I want to do a solo road trip. I live in Washington and I’m down to drive. I’m looking for some suggestions in destinations and fun things to do for a solo female. I love all types of music and “free spirit” things. I’ve never been to a musical festival before, and I’m going to one in a months time which means I’ll be camping there for 6 days. I checked my cycle and looks like I’m due on for this week which is a fat pain in the asshole. Does anyone have any recommendations on how to deal with it (im worried about the long queues for toilets🥴). Please don’t suggest taking the delay pills since Im under 18 (so a dr won’t even prescribe me them anyway) and also heard that they aren’t reliable, and still give u cramps anyways, not to mention u have to take them multiple times a day. I use tampons but I’m scared about the cramps since I have gotten them really bad in the past. Long story short : I took a day off and paid 100€ to go see Kendrick Lamar at the Les ardentes festival in Belgium and the guy sucks . He came 2 min before (saw his car) performed 1h03 instead of 1h30 . Left with barely any good bye . Didn’t bother out ANY ENERGY at all in his performance . So yes of course his tracks are mad so everybody was loving it . But id rather go listen to him in a club without his presence then! At the end i booed him. A few followed and many others asked to stop. People are just sheep. Someone came , gave a soulless performance literally pissing on us with his « I came, sang, pay me » probably took north of 500k€ and we should be clapping ? I went to Brighton On the Beach festival on Sunday and formed a short and sweet bromance for most of the day with this guy, as I thought he looked very much like Venjet with his glasses and smile. At some point though I had to go get some food so I made a deal with him that if I dont find him again in the same spot; at the end of the festival he should whistle loudly near the exit and I will find him. However later on I realised I had to rush off to get a train back to London so couldn't stay to the very end! I thought these two photos were pretty funny, so thought it might get some rewarding exposure to reach him or someone he knows. Just a mini vent. I like to hit up 3/4 fests a year. I was lucky enough to get to do EDC Orlando in November and EDC Vegas in May. I’m moving to a new city next month and while I start my new job and get adjusted to new city life I’m unfortunately going to be on an indefinite festival hiatus💔🥲 My next festival will more than likely be EDC Vegas 2024, making this my longest hiatus since the pandemic. I miss it. I miss the music, the friends, the outfits, the chaos, etc. Luckily moving to a big city means a lot of DJ’s will be frequenting the area so local shows will get me by! So here in the UK, we play Rugby 7s in the summer, 90% of the times these are festivals, similar to a music festival, everyone arrives for the weekend and camps, the Friday is a huge party, the Saturday is the tournament and then everyone parties on the Saturday night again. Everything wraps up on the Sunday! Hi so I'm going to my fist concert/festival in 5 days to rolling loud Miami. I am super excited and cannot wait. I really enjoy knowing all the words to songs so I can belt out the lyrics. There is no posted setlist for any of the artists going and I'm kinda scrambling around trying to pick out what songs I think are all gonna be on there. (Rant) I love concerts and I’ve been to a few festivals. I recently relocated to South Dakota for my job and It’s just to expensive to try to go to Aftershock in Sacramento. Well I decided to go to Rockfest here in Wisconsin and let me just say this wtf Pit Passes? Every concert and festival I’ve been to you get a GA ticket and the more you like the band the more you plan and get your way to the front. Yes there are VIP for the Rich and elderly people that want more of the “hoity-toity” accommodations. I just can’t believe they are now micro transactioning concert experiences! I’m at a lost for how I can even begin to except this. I don’t want to even pay or give them my money because I feel it is so outrageous that they can even ask for more! Also no moshing even if you get the pit passes. I love concerts and the complete experience when did we start allowing people to moderate and charge us for wanting it?!?. What’s your opinions on tipping workers at festivals? obviously every food vendor i’m gonna tip no matter what, but recently i went to bonaroo and had 2 different people sitting at the showers clicking on the tablets get mad at me for not tipping them. i don’t really understand people getting upset about not tipping but maybe i’m the asshole.
